It is said that our body gets the best natural detoxification when we walk in a clean, quiet beach. As the waves break in our feet, we notice that our breathing becomes easier, our anxiety disappears and we feel lighter and free from pain.
It’s easy to dismiss such positive effects to the soothing surroundings. But there is also a scientific explanation as to why we feel calmer when we are near a clean body of water, especially those surrounded by lush vegetation.
The water molecules, as they crash into earth, release negative ions. When our bodies (which are filled with positive ions) absorb them, the negative and positive ions combine and turn into energy. This gives our body the power to fight disease, improve organ function and eliminate our waste regularly.
The problem is this so-called process of ionization doesn’t happen today as much as it should. Pollution has taken its toll on our negative ion sources, and sometimes even a walk in the beach won’t give our body its much-needed negative ions.

How it works

Through the thousands of pores in your feet, the array will generate a stream of positive and negative ions (or charged atoms), which will travel through the body, attaching to and neutralizing oppositely charged particles. Osmosis then pulls the neutralized particles out of your body through whatever surface of the skin is exposed to water, hence through your feet, and on to the water in the basin.
The color of flushed-out toxins varies from one person to another.
